Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Actually, I forgot about getting walked off Raptor too. So that's 3 rides, ha

Again, once they opened the OTSR we just hopped off the train and walked back to the station 🤷‍♂️

And everyone lived!!! Shock!!!

You guys make fun of OSHA... You should try living / doing business in the the UK / EU!!!!

That being said, I do think letting you walk down a lift hill unaided is a little negligent. Somebody WILL fall on an evac one day, especially given the emotional state some none goon guests may be in after a stoppage, and that'll probably be the end of that. The staff in that last example don't even have harnesses on themselves!!! 🤣 What is it OSHA do again?

Love it when a coaster goes almost completely under the radar.

And yet again it's in Vietnam where a Vekoma Switchback coaster called Warrior Challenge has opened at Vinwonders Vũ Yên.

The ride is a clone of Jungle Rush at Dreamworld in Australia (sans all the themeing obviously)
Certainly loses a lot of its mystique without the theme but it still looks like a pretty solid junior for the park.

The park is also building an as yet unknown 2nd coaster for later in the year called Spellbound Storm

What is it about Vietnam and coasters suddenly springing up out of nowhere? It seems like coasters built in Vietnam have no kind of build up; we just seem to find out about them when they open!

They are building another bigger Vekoma coaster, I heard it is a launch coaster.

Another UK seaside amusement park lost 😥 Coney Beach in Porthcawl, Wales
PLEASE READ
It is with heavy hearts we would like to share with you personally that this season at Coney Beach will be our last. We will be closing our gates for the final time this October.
It’s the end of an era, for over one hundred years we and other showmen and their families have lived and worked in Porthcawl helping to make it a busy seaside destination. Bringing fun, laughter and fond memories to so many.
We will miss it greatly and while we are sad to see our time here come to an end we are forever grateful to have had the opportunity to have been part of so many generations of families lives, young and old.
Thank you for sharing our love of ‘all the fun of the fair’ and the legacy that Coney Beach leaves.

Not sure if this is small news or something bigger, but it seems like an employee died on the Heimwehfluh single rail alpine coaster near Interlaken

Seems like maintenance was poor and the ride has been closed. I rode it last year and it did feel like the brakes weren't that effective, but they worked well enough.

Monster at Walygator Grand Est has a roof!!!!!

It does appear that a more significant project is underway for Monster as a full-on theming display has now been constructed in front of the coaster, finally giving the ride a proper entrance sign:

The park also held a preview event last night for the new fiberglass train on Anaconda, with the official re-opening for the coaster set for today:
