New attractions at Paultons Park

The footers on the Go-Karts site remind me of Mecalodon, although I suppose it could be anything with a lot of turns. I'm not sure of the technical term, but the rectangular footers look like they could have one vertical support coming out of each, as well as one diagonal.

The building by Magma looks very substantial. Assuming it's not a tunnel or station for the "Go-Karts" ride, I suppose it might be the area's main shop and restaurant.

As for the beneath-Cobra ride, I'm beginning to think it might be a very simple coaster. There's really not much room left east of Cobra, once you've accounted for this new ride's station and (presumably) lift hill. It looks like a very "tight" ride, if you know what I mean. Can't imagine a long train with lots of banked turns.

I like how he said Lawrence and James came over and said hello to him. The parks that make you feel welcome are the best.

As for the ride near Cobra, the look of it gives me water ride vibes, but of course it could just be the Viking theming. I'm definitely getting the feeling at the moment that this 2026 ride is the less major of the two, and the 2027 "Go-Karts" ride will be a bigger coaster. A Water Coaster is still a big possibility for the "Cobra" ride, I think, although it's a bit confusing with the inversion and 1.2m restriction etc.

That's what I was thinking, a Gerstlauer.
For the water coaster though (hate to break this) from what I heard, the park was suppose to purchase an Intamin water coaster (along the lines of Divertical at Mirabilandia) but unfortunately due to some unknown issues with both Intamin & Paultons, the water coaster is now completely scrapped.

In all reality, its great we have managed to wittle our options down to 3/4 possibilities. Based on the footers of course;

Intamin Hot Racer (My No.1 pick still)
Gerstlauer Eurofighter/Infinity
Gerstlauer Airtime Coaster (aka: Mecaladon)

In my own personal opinion (with no bias may I add), the Intamin Hot Racer is the most likely, and most fitting for Paultons. They already have an outstanding line-up of family coasters, Storm Chaser being the most thrilling. An Intamin Hot Racer seems like the next step up, not an ultimate thrill coaster, but the next step up. If its anything like Mahuka, then perfect!

As for 2027. I can’t see Paultons adding another massive attraction. Its a possibility if course, however, seen as Vikings is the ultimate renovation/add-on of the Cobra/Edge/Magma area, they won’t want to invest again until 2028, even 2029. A Water coaster would be a nice addition, however we have seen many UK parks stray away from water attractions, making me heavily doubt them adding one being a possibility. But hey-ho. Paultons has the brightest future of any UK theme park, so nothing will shock me!

EDIT: plus the addition of on-site accommodation, possibly a hotel in the future too, Paultons truly have cemented themselves as the UK’s most family-friendly and immersive theme park!

An infinity coaster with multiple launches would be a good fit imo. The interactive buttons on ride could be used for choosing which Norse god you follow changing the ride experience.

I would have preferred a Mack water coaster, much better banking and transitions imo.

Hopefully they will show what’s coming next year and tease 2027 similar to super fans days last year!

That would've been a very interesting addition for Paultons I'd say and a massive step up from Storm Chaser if there's nothing as thrilling build.

Divertical is 164ft with a height requirement of 1.3m. Based on the height of the coaster itself, I'm not sure if it would've happened unless it's custom and more in height like the Mack Water Coaster models with the park having restrictions on how high they can build without planning permission.
 
Vindfald at Tivoli Friheden is 1.2m, so a Euro Fighter definitely fits the bill. Would also make sense working with Gerstlauer again on a ride that so closely intertwines with Cobra. The newer Infinity Coasters (Fury, Mystic, Pitts Special) seem to be 1.3m, so I can definitely imagine a Euro Fighter more. I think it has a left-turn into the station (rather than a right-turn out of it), and so the bit that points south-west (?) and goes under Cobra is the beginning of the ride. So, the first element is that complex arrangement of footers, whatever it is. Personally, I'd rather have a launched coaster than one with a vertical lift hill, but we'll see.

For the 2027 ride, I think a Gerstlauer Airtime Coaster would be much better than a Water Coaster, personally, but I could definitely imagine a small SuperSplash like the one at Plopsaland.

I can certainly see a Gerstlauer Eurofighter coming to the park.
Sure, it's nothing special as we have 2 in the UK (formerly 3 as obviously Oakwood has shut down in 2024 whiced housed Speed: No Limits) and obviously Speed: No Limits is not getting relocated to Paultons Park as they don't buy second hand rides.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I remember sometime ago Southport Pleasureland (now known as Adventure Coast Southport) was rumored to get either a Gerstlauer Eurofighter or a Zamperla Thunderbolt which according to RCDB, it was suppose to open this year but no construction has happened yet so they might build it in 2026? Who knows to be honest 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yes I know I'm going off topic here but an Eurofighter at the park is somewhat a reasonable choice for Paultons as it matches their 1.2 requirement that they are looking for.

I think a Eurofighter would be a safe addition to the park for something that can be a starter thrill coaster. It's not groundbreaking but perfect for what the park is aiming for.

Some of the Infinity Coasters have 1.2m height requirements so could be an infinity even.

I'd actually ask Paultons why they didn't add a Eurofighter sooner to be honest i.e. between Cobra and Lost Kingdom, I think a Eurofighter suits the target audience and park for a very long time and I don't think it would've alienated families too much (quite the opposite)
 
Ive been looking at the foundations as im trying to think of how they may link together ive come up with this so far.

Green: newer grass cleared area?

As of now i see whatevers coming contained in the black area, i think the dragon roundabout area will be a separate from this attraction.

Its....interesting i hope we see a lot more supports go in as while it takes up a decent space the possible layouts currently look short. Of course their not done so it will change but yes, that super fan event can not come soon enough.

I really liked the idea of a Intamin family LSM coaster (currently the page is down on there site, maybe they are updating it 😅 Link). Eurofighter/Infinity would be cool but i dont see it, cant explain why but if i did get something from Gerstlauer it would be their family coaster as FireChaser is absolutely fantastic. No matter what though, i really hope we get a launch & inversion as that ticks off some coaster musts in their coaster collection.

@Niles I like the diagram, good work! The more I look the more it confuses me, the big footer has to be the station surely? And the collection of footers in the helix of cobra looks, at first glance, like it could be some form of spike, but i cant see how that transition out of the station to the left can follow from a spike. I think the under helix area has gotta be a tight turn following a brake run. Which suggests the straight following the turn out of the left side of the station will be a launch. Not sure how long the below has been showcased on Intamins website, but something of this ilk looks to be a solid bet. Have to admit, its not what i predicted or expected!

Agreed, I still think the footers match Intamin, whether that be a straddle coaster or a family LSM, or potentially a hot racer.

Did i see that Cobra is closing earlier in the year before the end of the season? Could we potentially be seeing a couple of supports being replaced for Cobra to make way for the turn underneath the helix?

EDIT: Just checked the Intamin website too - The beginning of this layout for a Hot Racer seems to match the station footers, right hand turn, into a potential launch, with a weird S bend before the brake run into the station. While there wouldn't be the space for part of this layout, some of it seems to match pretty closely. I'd love to see something like one of these.

Would be okay, however I'm not a fan of the one train with six seats. Would have to at least have two trains, preferably with 9 seats. The one good thing about Paultons is the short queue times. I would hate for them to break the mould with their signature coaster.

It does look like it, especially the S-turn. That's the Unity, 1x6 Seats layout - I'd be very pleased if that was the ride.
 
I'm still sticking with a Gerstlauer though. Although I would love an Intamin hot racer her in the UK but for me, I'm still sticking with an infinity/Eurofighter as it seems to be a more reasonable choice in my opinion.
