Double double 🤷‍♂️
#1,135 Rapterra. Wing coasters are my least favorite in the entire B&M catalog.... but this one aas fine, I guess, I enjoyed it on the front row with minimal bounce, the back row on the other hand was pretty horrendous although I guess it made me laugh at how bad it was, haha

After Rapterra I walked over to the Pumpkin Coaster, something I'd been trying to ride at KD since the Taxi Jam days. Cedar Fair had it recently relax the rules on adults without children riding their kiddie coasters. Last summer I was successfully able to do the one at Kings Island but a month later still denied this one....a year later and after +15 visits over the last 25 years, I finally got this bad boy.
1,136 Great Pumpkin Coaster

Continuing on my travels after Kings Dominion, I visited Busch Gardens with a potential two new credits but only received one, Big Bad Wolf. Minimal new B&M Shake and far superior to Phoenix Rising, Wolfs Revenge was a lot of fun. Would have liked a second ride but the lines and time constraints prohibited such #1,137

New day, new credit(s). Rope drop at Great Adventure and ran to Flash. Would have been on the first train of the day but opted for a front seat ride. I really wanted to do a second one in the back but due to the horrifyingly bad operations of the ride, the queue had ballooned massively and I didn't have the energy to wait. That being said, I thought the ride was honestly a lot of fun and while maybe not a standout I think at some other parks, where capacity wouldn't be as crucial, this ride would be a winner. The Hang Time dropping off the first inversion was the highlight. Flash: Vertical Velocity #1,138

Having been to Great Adventure a million times and with the park recently ripping out half of its attractions, I left after a lap on Jersey devil, nitro, and the recently refurbished ferris wheel. Originally the plan before driving to Boston was Nick Universe, for the third time, to finally get on Sandy, but the parks website lists it as closed until August Casino Pier would be an option for Xolo, it was closed last time I was there because of rain.... but instead I opted for Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, a park I last visited in 2005. Since my visit they had removed both coasters they had at the time and replaced them with new models. Although only one was new for me, since the SBF Spinner was a IAAPA floor show model I had previously done. So the sole cresit left was Shark Escape, #1,139

And now here comes the fun part and by fun I mean I guess it's really annoying. Four new coasters are opening in New England this summer. Three of them are production model SBF spinners (Quassy, Canobie, and Starland) ....the other is Quantum Accelerator. It's June 22nd, none have opened. So there's that. 🤦‍♂️ ....but at least I'll get to see my mom and dad while in Boston

This was exactly what I expected it to be, a fun ride but nothing to write home about.

The dark ride section was cute and I love all the little details EP puts in every ride. Launch does nothing, hangtime on the first loop was fun, trimmed too hard on the mid course, but the last barrel roll did deliver.

Wodan
I think my expectations were too high for this one. It’s a solid ride, but i was a bit underwhelmed.

The queue looks amazing and the ride has some fun laterals.

Silver Star
Silver Star was the opposite for me. I heard a lot of people saying that this was their least favorite B&M hyper, but I loved it.

I’m ranking it pretty high overall in my count. Now granted, I have only ridden Mako, Shambhala and Nitro, but I think that it has a good variety of forces and rides pretty damn smooth for a 23 year old coaster.

Happy to see that they are retheming the area for 2026, because the queue line / station building really stick out in an otherwise amazingly themed park.

Voltron
This ride delivers in all areas except for smoothness (which also seems to vary greatly per train / seat / time of day).

EP seems really committed to super efficient operations and it really shows on Voltron. It is mesmerizing to watch the trains unload and load row by row and the it just keeps going.

The little pre-launch gimmick is fun and even provides a bit of air time. The first launch is by no means bad, but I thought it would do more.

Everything else though after that just worked for me. Nothing felt repetitive and the ride just has so much raw power.

What surprised me is how much of a difference you notice between the front and back row, considering it is a relatively short train.

The best seats are the definitely the wing sears (right wing being the best especially on the wave turn), however I found a couple of rides unbearable and had to make sure to keep my back of the back of the seat to avoid a concussion. The roughness is definitely worse on some trains.

390. Steel Curtain - I finally got this ride after it being closed when I went to Kennywood during COVID in 2020. I wasn't sure what to expect but I love that this ride focuses more on positive G's while Phantom focuses more on negative G's. The ride is really comfy and the inversions pull some really good forces. There's a bit of air here and there to keep things fresh. The structure looks really imposing, but its a shame Kennywood had to cut the extras they had planned like all the interactive exhibits. It would've made for a more interesting land for sure.

Troy as 522- What a great way to finish the trip off! Toverland was kind of a flex day thing, with plans to use that day to return to one of the main parks or explore Utrecht on a rainy day or something. But we did it, we saved the best for last, the park pleasantly surprised me, and this thing blew me away as Dutch Thunderhead!

It’s got the crazy pops of airtime, the cool station fly through, I loved the Trojan Horse outside, and it’s so smooth and well taken care of. It’s definitely in the conversation for best GCI, some of their coasters can be finnicky about conditions or just flat out suck, but the one ride we got on this sold me fully on the ride.

While speaking to the gift shop attendant, a child also loudly dropped one of those heavy metal lift chain links from a shelf and about made the entire gift shop jump out of their skin, so that was a funny memory to go with.
