Kingda Ka and Green Lantern's removal for new 2026 record-breaking coaster

Out of curiosity, is anything going on on the site of this ride at present?.......It seems very peculiar… if it’s a large-scale coaster as billed, and is due to open next year, I’d imagine that at least some construction would have started by now, no?
....because......
My prediction is the park acts like this pseudo announcement never happened and the project is quietly forgotten about 🤷‍♂️

Was a big patch of fenced off nothingness last week.
It was yesterday as well, with the exception of 2 pieces of loop and a small piece of track from KdK. Unfortunately my car doesn’t have about space for any of those pieces, I would’ve loved to take care of them :-)

Permits have been filed to install footers, so as least we know it’s not cancelled 😂

5' isn’t especially deep, however the overall spec for footings would be determined by a structural engineer and would be based on the geological makeup of the ground and it would be site specific.

So a coaster having a certain deep footer at one park may need deeper footers or a different footer make up (i.e. pilled footers or linked footers) if it were to be moved to or installed at a different park.

5’ deep may be deep enough for a coaster built on a raft foundation, for example how some of the recent indoor Intamin straddle or multi dimensions coasters have been built on.
