Six Flags Great America | Wrath of Rakshasa | B&M Dive Coaster | 2025

I received an invite to the media day, which will be Thursday, May 22nd. That means commercial shooting will be the day before, and passholder previews should begin on Friday, May 23rd, with the public opening on Saturday, May 24th.

Looks like I'll be there on opening day!

Remember it's not using the holding brake yet... that'll shave off a few mph.

The layout has a nice length to it, but it doesn't look particularly exciting after that third inversion. And then there's the B&M smoothness these days...
Do we know when they will start to use it? I can’t wait to say it looks slow 😜

It’s encouraging to hear that B&M has seemingly taken some feedback on board regarding the recent rattles; Big Bad Wolf is seemingly a lot smoother than Phoenix Rising, and Wrath of Rakshasa looks a lot smoother than Iron Menace!

Maybe B&M’s rattles were just a brief blip rather than a long term trend?

I was gonna say, while it does seem like an improvement over Iron Menace, Rakshasa still appears to have a consistent/minor rattle throughout the whole layout, judging by that ridercam.

Front middle is probably going to be the desirable seat.

Oops. Got that wrong. The weather pushed back the commercial shoot and the public opening will be May 31st. A bit of a bummer for the park not to have it open for the holiday weekend.

Looks fast, which is a pleasant surprise. That said, not shocked to hear that it's a bit shakey already, plus vests on a dive coaster will always be a downgrade from the traditional OSTRs in my books. Feels like the classic dive coasters are still never to be outdone in that regard!

Grand opening was today!

So far am hearing good things. For a nice Saturday opening they were able to keep waits well below an hour thanks to military efficiency dispatches and minimal interruptions. Seating is assigned, there is no choosing or waiting on rows. Backpacks and larger bags can't go into the flying bins system, if you don't leave it in a locker you will be made to cross the platform with them. Some people say there's a rattle, most say it runs quite well. Looking forwards to riding next weekend.
