Six Flags Great Adventure | Unknown | Unknown Kingda Ka replacement | 2026+

Out of curiosity, is anything going on on the site of this ride at present?.......It seems very peculiar… if it’s a large-scale coaster as billed, and is due to open next year, I’d imagine that at least some construction would have started by now, no?
....because......
My prediction is the park acts like this pseudo announcement never happened and the project is quietly forgotten about 🤷‍♂️

Was a big patch of fenced off nothingness last week.
It was yesterday as well, with the exception of 2 pieces of loop and a small piece of track from KdK. Unfortunately my car doesn’t have about space for any of those pieces, I would’ve loved to take care of them :-)

Permits have been filed to install footers, so as least we know it’s not cancelled 😂

5' isn’t especially deep, however the overall spec for footings would be determined by a structural engineer and would be based on the geological makeup of the ground and it would be site specific.

So a coaster having a certain deep footer at one park may need deeper footers or a different footer make up (i.e. pilled footers or linked footers) if it were to be moved to or installed at a different park.

5’ deep may be deep enough for a coaster built on a raft foundation, for example how some of the recent indoor Intamin straddle or multi dimensions coasters have been built on.

B&M Surf Coaster, here we come! 😭

All the latest;

The project is no longer 2026 but Beyond 2026. Probably the smart call really. Holiday in the Park is also off this year.

In the meantime... we have rebar going in;

One of my friends was flying back from Europe today and got this sick shot;

Hmmm… now if thats on Green Lantern’s former sight… and its not pointing the same direction as Ka’s Tower… surely this is not that stupid MACK Extreme Spinner Strata thing.
What are people’s thoughts on this? I did hear a rumour of a Multi-Launch Giga at one point???

How likely is it that the park might try and retake the height and speed records from Falcon’s Flight?

Admittedly, Falcon has set the bar quite a bit higher, but Kingda Ka being the world’s tallest and fastest coaster was surely a huge boon for Six Flags Great Adventure, so why wouldn’t they want to recreate that if they could?

I feel like even when SFGA had Kingda Ka, they didn't make as much of a big deal of it as they could have.

When we went we were shocked that it felt so hidden away at the edge of the park and there weren't adverts around for it or big banners trying to get you hyped for it.

Completely different to Formula Rossa at Ferrari World where they definitely want you to know it's the fastest.

I wonder if it actually puts off some potential visitors, like "oh if the main reason to go is a ride that's way too scary, I don't want to go". The enthusiasts who care about that kind of stuff will know about it anyway.

According to Intamin, they're max speed with LSM launches are 250 kph. Given that Falcon's Flight speed record is rumored to be exactly that, I doubt they'd want to pour more money into it just to take it by 1 or 2 kph.
