New attractions at Paultons Park

I've said it multiple times. The park are investing in a whole new area, featuring removals, new rides, retheming, etc. And at approx £12m, they're not pumping a significant amount in a new coaster. Not the level to get a custom, very modern coaster at least. And if you look at ALL of their coasters, they are clones / stock models.

Anyone who was expecting anything beyond a stock model was setting themselves up for disappointment, bluntly put.

So assuming its a Gerst i think it will have a unique layout, might be cloned in the future but unique for now.

My reasoning being all Gerstlauers with two inversions are unique and are yet to be cloned, looking at the list none of the layouts fit the current foundations.

Vindfald was apparently only £4.2m so if they say put at least half of that £12m on the coaster they could get something a bit unique such as Mystic, that was only 6m euros.

Edit: Also first Ghostly Manor POV ive seen.

Heard some reviews and sounds like its the UKs best shooting dark ride and a pretty good one in general.

Now I think people are getting a bit to judgemental here. As much as all of you are now disappointed to hear it will be a Gerstlauer Eurofighter, I think this is a right decision for the park in my opinion and it makes sense too that cobra will get refurbished by Gerstlauer as they can work together for new attractions.

And I think the Mancey's are a bit wounded up by the Mirror Right now as for the leak (which is good for us but not for them)
For the Eurofighter (Drakon), I hope it's the ones with lapbars and I would certainly think that the trains would be nicely themed.
Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if Leisure Expert Group are involved with the project again as they nailed it with Tornado Springs & Ghostly Manor.
I am definitely not complaining, it does fit Paultons’ line-up well, plus gives them a much needed next step up. If the budgets is that high, we are definitely seeing a custom version, possibly with a spike somehow, just like Mystic… the ART Engineering Swing too, hopefully like Pumpen at Gruna Lund!

Honestly Ghostly Manor is amazing, so much detail in the pre show rooms, the use of screens, physical sets, interactive animatronics around the ride makes it easily one of the best in the UK and even Europe.

Don’t forget that most infinity coasters have a vertical lift anyway (hangtime, mystic, karnan etc). I doubt it’s a eurofighter because I don’t think Paultons would want a beyond vertical drop added as that would put mote kids off probably.

Apparently Ghostly Manor has a minimum age restriction of 5 years old. Why the restriction?

Going to go in a few weeks with a 4 year old who was looking forward to it.

I doubt they’ll question you on it, in all honesty. I can’t imagine there would be someone at the front ID’ing.

I think they do age restrictions as more of an indicator of what age they think might find it scary or similar.

Ghost Manor (looking at the POV) looks absolutely amazing.
I'm really glad they've gone for a dark ride as this is what they are missing from their portfolio.
It would be interesting if another UK park (or other parks around the world) would interested in purchasing a gameplay theatre as Mack does do Small (what Ghostly Manor is) Medium, & large (the one at Europa Park).
Obviously Ghostly Manor is the real winner for the Mack Gameplay Theatre as the one at Europa Park is heavily based on screens where as Ghostly Manor on the otherhand is a mixture of screens and props which is good.

The reason I say is because a friend's 4 year old was refused this morning after waiting in the queue for 45 minutes.

Never understood the age restrictions at Paultons. Makes sense as an advisory for something like Ghostly, but it being on all the rides is a bit silly. Some weird requirement from an insurer maybe? The only check they seem to do is asking the kid how old they are, so it just becomes an exercise in parents teaching their kids how to lie.

I'm alright with the new coaster being some kind of Gerst. Of course the hot racer would have been brilliant, but this feels a more natural first step into thrill territory for the park, and based on recent investments I trust them to create a strong attraction even if the hardware itself turns out to be nothing special (which it still could be!)

This is not what I thought would happen, I don't think anyone though it would be a gurst but know You have crafted that excellent image I can see it, just hoping they know what they are doing like they always do.

Also, maybe they had to work with gurst if paultons wanted to re track cobra, gurst might've said they would have only re tracked cobra if paultons pays for another coaster.

If you can understand this well done, if you can't, sorry.

Also slightly upset, wanted it to be a launch, it just made more sense in my head, can anyone recall what the mirror article actually said?

Here you go:

"The Viking-themed extravaganza, due to open in spring 2026, will be home to Paultons Park's first-ever inverting rollercoaster. ‘Drakon’ promises to be the park's most adrenaline-pumping ride yet, boasting a vertical lift hill and two twists that'll flip riders head over heels."

Don’t forget both eurofighter and infinity models can include launches. With Paultons attention to detail we can expect an over all great addition. Also it’s not just Geurstlauer that do vertical lifts…

That looks fantastic. Much better than I expected it to look, and significantly better than Europa's version. I really love the mix of physical set pieces and screens, and including where they've included animatronics and physical set pieces inside some of the small screen scenes. The scene with nothing but a physical set to shoot at was a welcome surprise also, I thought every scene would be a screen.

It is strange to list the vertical lift hill but no mention of a beyond vertical drop, when surely that’s the selling point of a euro fighter?

I mean, I know the mirror isn’t exactly known for quality journalism though… haha
