It was supposed to get "safety upgrades" per the Smiler incident marching orders, but maybe it still hasn't received them. According to Chessington's site it is still closed: http://www.chessington.com/plan/today-a ... ngton.aspx
FYI I saw Rattlesnake testing at Chessington yesterday. Not sure what that means, but seems like a good sign it'll reopen soon.
Nothing new on the Smiler front but this was related so I thought I'd post.
Hey everyone! I was only able to think of a few and was wondering if there were other ones I wasn't thinking of.
To start it off of course, Drachen Fire. The very out of character Arrow custom looper that looked like something out of the B&M playbook that Arrow took a swing at. It only operated...
From riding experience, definitely Dania Beach Hurricane. It's in my wooden coaster top 10.
I would like to have checked out the following:
Knightmare at Camelot
Mega Zeph at Six Flags New Orleans
Ring Racer at Nürburgring
Big Dipper at Geauga Lake
I knew I was going to get a bruise after but I had no idea how nasty it would be. Don't worry, I still loved Kingda Ka anyway. It's a cool battle scar to show off to people haha
I wish I could fall asleep, but my neck was hurting in that position. Superman wasn't terrible though. I mean, how...
RMT is an old Arrow, so you can understand the potential pain. Superman was painful in the pretzel and they can't load and unload very fast at SFGAdv so we waited on the brake run a while haha
I actually got a huge bruise on Kingda Ka. Here is a photo...
I still can't believe they are painting it now, after they already opened it. What happened to thinking ahead? The pictures on that link make it look like they set the ride up for a temporary carnival situation. Not the way to treat a B&M.
No problem! Yeah, TTD didn't hurt one bit.
I don't mind you editing my post! I actually had the pictures visible and I think another mod changed it to links lol
I miss being a mod here, especially when we got to deal with pesky spammers haha
I went to Six Flags Great Adventure yesterday with my friend Cal for the Great American Scream Machine's last day and ERT after hours to get the last rides on it. I also wanted to up my coaster count from 90. Anyway here it goes...
Rides:
Houdini's Great Escape - 1
Coasters:
Kingda Ka -...
I was at the ERT event last night. Six Flags was really nice and catered the event, had stiltwalkers with shiny american flag themed outfits, and had a band (pop punk cover band that was pretty awful, but oh well). They also had a silent auction of some construction photos and first press...
