The whole “track designs with wheels on the outside are smoother” thing has been long disproved, ever since RMC started making glass smooth steel coasters with the wheels on the inside of the rails. The trope of rough coasters with wheels on the inside comes from old Arrows and Vekomas, whose...
I’m currently bored in a queue, and I haven’t posted in this thread in quite a while, so I figured I’d review some of the notable stuff I rode on my New York/Canada trip, from July 28 - August 1.
Riding #282 Leap the Dips at Lakemont Park checked another record off my list with the world’s...
I’d like to humbly request that we collectively choose Iron Splash: The Surf Coaster simply because it’d be extremely funny for a ride of that name to exist at that park.
Not bad at all! Seems it’s time to create a whole new list. To do in 2024:
Renegade
Prowler
Gold Striker
Outlaw Run
Time Traveler
Goliath (Great America)
Maxx Force
Shivering Timbers
Zippin Pippin
Hades 360

Anyone who’s visited that park since the Pandemic knows that it’s in no state for a large addition like that. They don’t even have enough money to remove T3, much less install anything at all, especially a new coaster.
The queue line appears to directly follow under the path of lift and turnaround. That’s an interesting use of space that I don’t think we’ve seen before yet!
Appears to be decidedly not racing themed, which means we get to see another sexy Intamin custom zero car! I’m interested to see where they’ll go with the smaller form factor of the Hot Racer’s trains.
Back when I lived in an area with seasonal parks, coaster season was firmly April to October. Anything past that and parks are either opening with half the park closed, or aren’t open at all.
