A few other goons went at the weekend and loved it so I'm very much looking forward to visiting in August. Hopefully a bit more of the theming and grounds will have been tidied up, as it will likely be my only visit in a while.
As with Howie above, going to put my new creds in and any rerides that are worth mentioning.
8 full park days and every single one had an amazing coaster, really did well with this trip.
Day 1 Dorney/Knoebels
I'd been to both parks before so only needed Iron Menace.
Not the worst Dive...
Most likely yes, but there isn't much track so most of it is ground level work.
They still have the "opening in summer" facades up, and there was a lot of workers on site. If it's not open in August I could see them delaying it to next year.
Rode Hurricane at fun spot yesterday and I honestly thought we were derailing, then the restraints opened as we were reaching the unload area.
How that thing is allowed to operate I do not know, another one for the list of never ride again.
Been on some decent ones over the last few years so;
1 - Lech
2 - F.L.Y
3 - Hals-uber-Kopf
4 - Formula
5 - Colorado Adventure
6 - Stunt Fall
The rest are much of a muchness. But I am looking forward to riding Big Bear Mountain, Fonix, Fianna Force and some of the other newer thrill versions.
The first ride on Steel Vengeance was great but not amazing, and only cemented number 1 after those late night back row rides. So I get the slight disappointment angle.
RTH required multiple re-rides to get the perfect lap.
Taron requires evening rides to appreciate.
Helix requires evening...
I would say that the RMCs have perfected the stall, as all of theirs I've ridden (Goliath, Wildfire, Zadra) all feel like Zero-G, an upside down B&M floaty hill if you will. The restraint is there but your full weight isn't against it.
Other manufacturers are hit and miss with their attempts...
Layout is pretty bland but it has a decent floaty hill on the forward leg and has a gorgeous view all the way around, spike is also more impressive than a lot of others.
It's the theming and setting that set it apart, as they nearly all ride the same.
Hangtime is not airtime. A proper stall, such as Wildfire or Zadra is genuine upside down weightlessness and is great airtime, hanging upside down with your full weight on the restraint is not. Typical stat padding.
I'm still hopeful that with a full train this speeds up a bit through that...
If they had replaced all the track including the lift, brakes and station then I would have. Similar to removing a worm and putting a brand spanking new one in.
Anyway, people can count it if they want, but I shall be gazing down from my ivory tower ;)
I think it will be similar to Hulk where there is no extra cred, and it automatically ticks if you rode the original, marking it as ridden in another location.
Plus, RCDB only shows the one ride, so no extra cred for me.
