Once every other month or so; I don't really have any time to go out at Uni so when I do I try to go hard. I also can't stand beer so I only really get drunk at clubs, never in a pub or something social like that. It's not that fun really, but I do always sleep really well :--D
Re: Heide Park | Unknown | B&M Wing Coaster
Is there any sign at all of this being official? Some kind of date? I can't understand why Merlin invest so well in Heide but don't really market it; I've seen nothing. This could easily be the best of the three European Wingriders, they should push...
Re: Kings Island | "Banshee" | Moohassive B&M Invert
Ohh, I see our misunderstanding. When you say pre-drop I think of before the lift hill (Nemesis Inferno) or something like Great Bear, where it actually has something before the drop. Alpengeist, Afterburn etc. I'd just count as a more drawn...
Re: Kings Island | "Unknown" | "Unknown"
So 68mph, 4124ft long, 7 inversions. They haven't quoted a height I guess because it's smaller than Alpengeist but he said there was a total drop of 208ft, so effectively it's the biggest. They've pulled out all the stops.
Got round to seeing Now You See Me
Eh. It was flashy and fun, cast was good, acting was reasonable. The idea was pretty cool, everyone with a heart loves magic, and the explanations for the early heists were decent. But it dragged on and the final twist was a bit ridiculous. I didn't expect it...
Re: Kings Island | "Unknown" | "Unknown"
I do. I care quite a bit; that's why I'm on this website, that's why I'm writing on this forum. I'm not a King's Island fanboy by any means, I couldn't tell you all of their coasters off the top of my head and chances are I'll never get to go there. But...
Re: Kings Island | "Unknown" | "Unknown"
1. Someone who decides to build a ride 199ft tall is a dick
2. It's still not as TALL as Wild Eagle (blah blah drop blah blah terrain)
It would be genius from King's Island if this is all a wind up; first they put out a very promising inverter layout...
I went on it in 2010, and it was my second woodie after Gwazi (which was ****) and I expected it to be just as bad. I actually really enjoyed it; it's incredibly violent, it actually threw my phone out of my pocket, but the airtime on a lot of the drops is really great. Having said that...
Re: Universal Studios Florida | Unknown | Unknown
Harry Potter uses the Kuka robotic arms just like the RCT3 coaster, but it is technically not a roller coaster as it is on a completely controlled track. It's not inverted; the arm is supported by the track beneath.
Re: Universal Studios Florida | Unknown | Unknown
$1 billion? Seriously? I really want to believe that but that seems ridiculous. The entire Universal theme park revenue is $1.9 billion. Is this just hearsay or have they released figures? And I can understand Oceaneering and Dynamic Structures...
1. Saw - A decent ride. The indoor section is excellent; the drop gives a lot of air and the crossbows are nice. The outdoor is not great, the drop isn't up to much, reasonable airtime hill, and the final dive loop and turnaround are just awful.
2. Rage - As most people think, it's pretty damn...
I've only just found this thread, glad to see there are other tennis fans on CF :) I'm expecting a Djokovic win, but Del Potro played one of the best matches I've ever seen him play against Ferrer; provided his knee is in decent shape that could be a very good match. I don't think Janowicz will...
Man of Steel
Spoilers etc. etc.
I've always disliked Superman as a character; he goes along with Thor and Captain America as being really boring due to the lack of weaknesses (plus he's an alien so he's not even a real superhero) and I went into the film with low expectations. The first half...
I went today, it was a lovely day and the park was heaving, but I was in the hotel so I managed to get on pretty quickly. The theming is nice, the music is great and I thought the indoor illusions were a lot better than most made them out to be. The ride itself is really quite good; I'm prone to...
Re: Busch Gardens Tampa | Drop Tower
I think that's exactly his point; he's saying Kumba and SheiKra are great names, but if they were named in the style that Busch is using at the moment they'd be **** names, a la Cheetah Hunt
Re: Busch Gardens Tampa | Drop Tower
This looks great, 335ft is a mean height, but a ride with a vertical drop that's themed to a bird of prey? Really? Could they not have come up with anything more imaginative theme wise to contrast SheiKra? Still the concept looks amazing and this could...
I wouldn't be surprised if this is Gringott's; the track is unlike anything I've ever seen and Universal have always had the full robocoaster rumour knocking about. Also $30 million wouldn't be a massive amount for them considering some of the other stuff they've put in.
