How much of that car park would they be able to build on if they were to get the other site? China has needed something major for while and they might be able to squeeze something onto the side of the area if the farmer doesn't scream to them to get off their land. I'd suggest a wooden coaster...
I was actually thinking of this. Mack have already got their take on an inverted/suspended coaster, though it's clearly one more aimed at dark rides and family attractions. Seeing a B&M Invert-type ride with lap bars could be interesting. I don't see Mack trying a flyer, purely because they...
As great as a Mack-designed hyper at Europa would be, I don't see it happening for as long as Silver Star is still there. Like you said, whatever it is, Mack'll likely surprise us again and use their park as testing ground for something new and exciting. I'm not sure which other coaster types...
^ I believe they're just retheming it to go with the new animal enclosures they're adding next year. imo it's about dang time they gave that ride some clc (Chessie Loving Care)
It was great meeting all of you today. It was a solid day of faff and getting stuck on rides. Looking forward to seeing more of you lot in the future and hopefully I'll be able to meet y'all in December for PA!
As someone who isn't as much of a fan of the more wild flats like starshapes or topscans, I'd love if something like this would come to Thorpe. With Slammer gone, they need a new big intimidating upside down spinny ride!
Which other company is creating hybrid coasters at the moment though? Most of the ones I'm aware of are either older models that are likely from a defunct company, or an RMC. It certainly is an interesting thought that another company could be working on their own version of a modern hybrid...
Yeah, I thought that too, but the article earlier in the thread directly referenced a hybrid so if they're not redoing an existing woodie then I would infer they meant the steel topper track. Sorry if I didn't make that clear in my other posts.
It was mentioned earlier in the thread that the park were looking at building a hybrid coaster, which would suggest an RMC, but I remember reading somewhere (can't find it now) that RMC were wanting to keep the I-Box track for refurbs and the topper track for ground-up coasters. This would...
He also managed to sum up what I was typing out in one sentence and sneak it out as I was still typing!
By the way, with an RMC topper on the cards (I heard that RMC aren't looking to build Ibox coasters from the ground up) that would technically leave the park - and the country - with two big...
Don't forget that Thorpe has more competition with Legoland and Chessington within half an hour of the park and plenty of smaller parks nearby. They might all target different markets but they still divide the ratio of guests per citizen. Ireland barely has anything in terms of theme parks at...
Thanks for the advice! I think I skipped looking on that one because it wasn't on the sites I looked at for some reason. I looked at flight times and the best options for me seem to be similar to the times others on here have suggested they're taking. If anyone's happy to have me on board...
I'll most likely be there for Chessington since it's so close to me and it'd be a chance to get involved with a different coaster group than usual. Actually really tempted to do PA in December too. Looking at the Sol Costa Daurada atm. Has anyone had experiences at that place? How did you...
Love the Mack mega trains and especially enjoy the freedom and space they provide, especially as someone on the large-ish side who struggles with contorting their body into the old Intamin trains.. One thing that slightly bothers me is that the lap bar was sometimes too tight on me leading to...
I'm glad it's making a return as I know a lot of those who went on the ride really enjoyed it but for me the restraints pushed down way too much and the ride wasn't enjoyable for me at all. It's a shame as if it ran with normal OTSRs or even lap bars I could see myself really enjoying this...
