Universal UK theme park in Bedford

Where to? https://universalukproject.co.uk/ has not updated for me, are we looking at Central Beds planning portal perhaps?

Although hunting for any ride plans through all the other guff is harder than I imagined. It's all environmental as far as I can see?

Going to take a while to dig through it all and pick out what we can.
So far I've managed to pick out these bits:
  • It aims to deliver "universally acclaimed lands and attractions" and "groundbreaking new attractions" with "blockbuster attractions, adrenaline-pumping coasters, and mind-blowing spectaculars." No sign or confirmation yet of any particular rides or IPs (as expected).
  • A lot of emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity. They also have plans to offer assistive technology like captioning and audio description for shows, tactile maps, and guides.
  • Within the Theme Park, the maximum height for any component will be 115 meters.
  • Information on cinema, theatre and entertainment complexes.
  • An area for dog kennels and licenses to allow this.
  • Anyone worried about jumping spiders shutting the project down. They have a license required to mitigate impact on Great Crested Newts. 😂

New junction on the A421, as expected. Wixams Station to go to 4 platform, not the currently planned 2. Safeguarding but no commitment to a rebuild of the station on the Marston Vale Line.

A bit of a blow for those of us hoping for nightly firework shows.
"No more than 10 Fireworks shows are permitted each year, at least five of which would take place on or around the events of Chinese New Year, 5th November, Diwali or New Year’s Eve which may be after 11pm."

However:
The document outlines the following operating hours:
  • Normal hours: 07:00 to 23:00 (Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays).
  • Seasonal events (e.g., Halloween Horror Nights): 07:00 to 02:00 (up to 60 times annually).
  • Holidays (around Chinese New Year, 5th November, Diwali, Christmas/New Year's Eve): 07:00 to 01:00 (up to 5 times annually).

A bit of a blow for those of us hoping for nightly firework shows.

Drone and lightning shows should be ok though I assume? To be honest, I'm not too mad about less fireworks, Disney's firework usage seems excessive to me so the less the better imo!

Not a bad thing, people bought into Wixams before this development was planned. Existing residents should not be blighted by this development.

Agreed. It does say they're looking at using drones and lasers in the plans.

In other news. It looks like Universal have bought the remaining houses on Manor Road.

I hated Disney's fireworks anyway, half arsed compared to big shows, and just unnecessary pollution. I'd much rather see a few 'big' fireworks productions than nightly shows.

No, it's impossible I am afraid. The ECML tunnels are slightly wider, which allowed (a few specially modified) old Eurostar's to run on it, but the MML tunnels are narrower, slightly but enough to make the difference.
Also, the modified trains have been since scrapped.

The NEW Eurostars can't fit on anything but HS1.

I thought this was impossible....

Direct Disney to Universal train 'could' be a thing!!!
