What a fantastic day!
Amazing weather, amazing company and a lovely chilled time at the park. Huge thanks to @Serena for organising another awesome live, and congratulations on plucking up the courage to ride your first top spin!
how long is it till the next live?:D
I'm still figuring out my plans but I think I should be there, I'm hopefully looking at a job opportunity in Watford on Thursday, so would make sense to maybe do Thorpe and / or Chessie on Friday/saturday before heading back towards manchester where Alton isn't much of a detour.
I always felt that SFAM was given a bad rep, and if it wasn't part of the six flags chain and was an independant park then people would probably like it more. If a new company took it over then it could get a new lease of life, but given they're selling the land to be "marketed for...
Scotland is getting another alpine coaster!

Strangely they plan on deconstructing it every winter which seems kind of odd.... The management at cairngorm has been questionable at best in recent...
Interesting. Realistically I doubt the height or speed record would be a target, unless it's records for a particular class of coaster - e.g. wing or flying. So what else does that leave that would fit FWA?
steepest? most inversions? Fastest multi-launch? most launches?
A hoverboard themed surf coaster could be a neat idea...
Also lotr does seem tricky to make in to a ride. I assume it would be based on the Peter Jackson films, and the last one of those was published over 20 years ago, so most of the actors will have aged significantly (although something just...
it looks fun, but kind of rough and Shakey, although this depends on what they used to film it to some extent. I really don't understand why parks put out POVs that don't show off their newest coaster in the best light. Getting a 4k60 stabilised POV is really not that hard or expensive to do.
Looks interesting, more of a twister style layout than I was expecting. One thing I'll never understand is why anyone would release an official POV at 25fps. It just looks jerky and bad.
Could be worth trying acupressure bands, I think they can be used for seasickness but may help and shouldn't cause drowsiness. Other then that make sure you're well hydrated when riding coasters.
Imagine if people only went to the pub with the best value... All there would be is wetherspoons.
I like a Wetherspoon's, and it's a safe bet for a cheap pint, but many smaller pubs have a unique charm to them, even if some are a bit run down.
I always try and get the best bang for my buck...
For anyone who doesn't have a ticket, the event date of may 11 IS included in the lowest tier of the Merlin annual pass (discovery) currently on sale priced at £79. If you're planning on visiting Thorpe park or Chessington on a non peak day this year, it's probably a good investment.
Looks slow....
Agree it looks very awkward and has very strange pacing. It's like they gave them an option of multiple launches and a turntable and they agreed without thinking how they would factor in to the ride.
